"She can always yell for her dads. And so can you." Yuzuki is as much their kid as Choco is. It just took Macaque a few minutes to accept that.

"It's fine if you need me to stop, just tell me or shake me off or something."

Out of a portal comes the oil that smells like jasmine, a very subtle scent, and Macaque dips his fingers in and gets to work on the nearest feathers, straightening and preening them carefully.

[ And so can you. ]

[ And so can you. ]

[ E. Excuse him for a moment. Five moments. ]

[ ... Or maybe closer to five minutes, because holy fucking shit, way to take him out back and bludgeon him?? If Yuzuki wasn't holding onto tbe front with a metaphorical vice grip, that may have shaken him out of it. He doesn't (can't) say anything. Just holds Lucifer's hands, and breathes, and tries to relax into the preening. It's ... not bad, he thinks? It isn't making anything feel worse, and might even make some things feel better. ]

[ Incredibly belatedly, he mumbles, ]

You're perfect the way you are.

[ kill him now ]

[The pause and the way Yuzuki focuses on his breathing, the way he holds his hands, and the attempted relaxation are quite cute. They are also vulnerable and it is such a contrast to when they first met Yuzuki. Lucifer gently brushes the knuckles on the hands he's holding and makes sure to give a slow comforting squeeze. Just an added bit of grounding before he speaks.]

And so are you, Yuzuki-kun. So are you.

Macaque can hear the tsun going hard and being covered over with something like gratitude and, hopefully, allowing himself to be comforted.

"What he said. You're welcome with us anytime."

[ From bludgeoned to NUKED FROM ORBIT, apparently! Wow. What the hell did he do to deserve this? ]

[ (... No, really. What the hell-?) ]

[ Yuzuki responds by burying his head under or against whatever happens to be the closest and most convenient hiding spot. Maybe it's a blanket! Maybe it's a pillow!

Maybe it's a parent. ]

[Lucifer is all smiles and just lays his head down to hum a soft song for now. He will show mercy to Yuzuki. Only after he's dropped a verbal nuke on him. Never underestimate the love bomb potential of Lucifer Ducking Morningstar. Which does remind him. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a cute little sketch book. It has duckies on it. He opens it to a page and sets it down, turned to a page with a yellow ribbon bookmarking it.

Inside is the sketch and design of a duck. It is round little guy, with black feathers, and a night sky themed scarf. There are notes as to what features it should have. Glitter spray? Glitter bath bomb eggs? Glitter smoke bomb? GLITTER!!!!!]

For when you have the spoons to look at your future duck and provide feedback, Yuzuki-kun.

Macaque glances up from his preening and over to the sketchbook.

"Glitter? Someone has associations between the sparkle of our shadows and other things entirely." He's so amused.

[ It's a good thing Lucifer predicted a possible lack of spoons, because yeah, no, Yuzuki ain't unburrowing anytime soon. His heart is pounding like a drum, and his insides are all tangled up and knotted overly warm, almost painfully so, because plunging into a hot bath is a L O T when you're used to the cold. ]

[ He needs some time to wind down before he tries to re-engage. ]
