I'd never ignore MK. I'll drop in on him when I get a second. Might be a while, Wukong is in a clingy mood.
Throwing him in the scroll is a last resort. Why do you even have that thing here?
I can get him to cooperate to the extent that was ever possible. Probably. One advantage to the time period he's mentally vacationing at I guess, he trusts me. But he absolutely can't stay like this. It's like a mockery of what I wanted.
I asked for the tablet I was stuck in on the slim chance I wouldn't be trapped when I go home. Noodle Boy has an amnesiac friend and he wondered if it could help with those memories and he didn't quite think it through before making the wish for more of it.
I meant to tell you earlier, but when I tried, Wukong bust down the door.
And then he was right there.
There's a few more options then. With...minimal needing to sit still and focus. Hopefully minimal enough.
It's not only for his sake that i want to check in on him.
That sounds like MK. Is there no way to send the scroll back though?
It's fine, or we going to hurt no matter whether I was warned or not. I just want it fixed, whatever it takes. This is like one of those horror stories where you technically get your wish but everything is all wrong. Fittingly related to monkey's paws as I recall.
Not that I've found. I currently have it locked up.
Maybe I should find a place to bury it or find a person who won't interact with Wukong to hold it. MK is going to want Wukong around.
Yes, its a monkey's paw situation. We'll fix it. The memory scroll wouldn't exactly be the best time, but it'll at least work if everything else proves ineffective one way or the other.
It's almost like you know someone who could portal the thing anywhere you want. behind a dozen feet of rockface in the mountains, perhaps? I can even post sentries to make sure it remains undisturbed.
Unless we decide we need it or he gets fixed some other way.
With the sentries, that should work. The biggest concern is someone with Autumn powers might get near it and either uncover it or crush it and I don't want to know what happens if the memory scroll gets crushed.
I wasn't suggesting it for the long term, so we understand each other.
You don't need to tell me what Wukong will do when he gets a mind that someone's trying to tell him no, especially if it's a door guarding something that someone doesn't want him to have.
If Wukong isn't around you or me, now is best. I just need to undo the magic around it. I'll probably make you an exception to the seal when I redo it. I figured it was best any of us could retrieve it in case of any unforeseen disaster.
I told him my head hurt and I needed a rest, since he thinks my eye was a recent injury being that he's never seen it before. And no the irony does not escape me and I do not want to talk about it. So now is fine.
Are you home? I can be there in a second, just tell me which room.
Front hallway. Its in my workshop, but I also have a bunch of security systems I need to update for you and don't want something to take a potshot. MK was just distracting last month.
I'm making note of every instance of your lack of faith in me, by the way.
Very well, though. Just a second.
[ A portal opens in the front hallway and Macaque steps out, looking rather collected given the massive pile of everything that's been neatly placed atop his head. ]
I am sure the security wouldn't actually seriously hurt you, but that doesn't mean I want you to get hurt at all. Especially with how Wukong's been, even a light graze would probably get him to throw me through a building.
[There is soundproofing in the lab, but Macaque can probably here him moving around with something heavy and metal.]
[Then a veeeeery long moment of stillness.]
[And then a rapid running up the stairs, slamming open the door, before he rushes to his bedroom.]
[ Macaque takes a few steps into the room but quickly realizes there's not a thing he can do, so he stands stock still again, the tip of his tail flickering impatiently. ]
[He opens up more screens and there's cameras in every room.]
[Though bedrooms and bathroom just has cameras pointed to the outside door and windows. At least semi-respectful of privacy even as he has all the other public rooms fully on camera.]
[He's going through the time to see if MK just went to his room, or if he LEFT THE HOUSE.]
[ Macaque clamps down on the instinct to pace and just waits for the footage to show whatever it will show. How could MK be so reckless? What was he looking for? What if he'd gotten stuck in there and they didn't notice for days? ]
[Is MK even out of the scroll? Who knows, but sometimes you yell and set your hair on fire because it helps you deal with the sudden terror and panic attack.]
[Either way, he's off to MK's room and slamming open that door too. He'll fix the holes in the wall later.]
[MK being reckless? Well, yeah. It is kind of his default setting. At least when the two of them come barging in, MK is just existing the scroll in a flash of ink. He stumbles to the floor and looks up at Red Son and Macaque. Oh he's busted and his face shows it.]

Any ideas for how to fix it?
If it comes to that.

I have so many ideas, but that also involves a cooperative Wukong and we just don't mesh well.
Or throw him into the scroll. I guess he doesn't have to agree then.

But that should work until he's back to normal.

The chances of anyone getting into my house to steal, managing to stay undetected, find the safe, and get in is infinitesimally small.
Wukong just would do it.

When do you want to move it?

Let me guess, there's a problem. [ The words may be casual, but the voice and pose are tense. ]

Its gone. Wukong shouldn't have been unoccupied that long, he doesn't even know this is our house yet-
[He's already tapping at the screen, going through security footage.]

[ Macaque takes a few steps into the room but quickly realizes there's not a thing he can do, so he stands stock still again, the tip of his tail flickering impatiently. ]

[The footage is going backwards at high speed, until he finally sees movement, stopping it.]
Noodle Boy? [He rewinds at a slower speed and]
[Yep.]
[Yep, that's an MK with the memory scroll.]
What is he doing?!
no subject
[ He's definitely rushing over now and watching the video. Red Son might be able to hear his teeth grinding. ]
Do you have any footage of where he went, or is it just that room?
no subject
