When you step out of the elevator, a sharp thing flies out of one end of the space and zips across the area directly in front of you. Thanks to your being able to hear it coming and your ridiculous reflexes (and possibly your stupid luck), you manage to move out of the way with room to spare

It is a small, sharp object with irregular, jagged edges. And there is something gold glittering inside it, and you can make out the vague shape of a golden monkey, the same as above Wukong's desk in the Lobby. Seems like that is useful information.

The shard vanishes in the "floor" of the area, tearing another void into it as it vanishes into a deeper part of Macaque's soul.

He is always good at the angles. Jerking back and away, but head tracking the object.

Wait.

Monkey.

"The trap has Wukong's symbol on it," he said. "Which might be why its causing holes. We may need to catch it."

Wukong-san's ... ah, that tracks with what Donnie and Red Son were saying about shrapnel.

Catching something moving that fast is gonna be tricky, even for all of you guys. [ Even for her, now that she's noticed her WC abilities are, in fact, back on. ]

"That is the tricky part," he said.

And paused. "How sharp do you think it is? Donnie's seen the space titanium, yeah?"

He'll call his own metal space titanium, its basically what it is.

Ah, yeah! I got him a big block of it as a present back at the Temple, and-

[ She digs into her bag ]

[ Pulls out a power armor helmet. It's the same color blue as her eyes, decorated with strawberry shortcats, and has a kitty-ear headband on it ]

So we could try asking him to fabricate something ... and maybe I could try to get one of them with a shield?

"Its a magic thing made to mimic a hard as hell real thing. It probably has the best chance of catching it without one of us getting skewered. Or at least tell us more about how it operates," Wash said.

Worth a shot. I'll have fifteen litters of kittens if anyone tries catching magical soul shrapnel with their bare hands.

"I did almost suggest it, but then I remembered magic is cheating."

Please let's try to avoid another fire hydra 2.0, Wash-nii.

"To be fair, I am covered in VERY thick armor and I would be using the plating for deflection and that would usually work with most blades," Wash said.

Most blades. Most. Better safe than sorry, right?

Which reminds me! Seems like I've got Wild City's abilities active. Not super useful for catching shrapnel, but still good to know, right? [ She's marginally less likely to immediately eat shit if they run into danger! ]

"Yes, that's why I suggested Donnie. His has no risk to anyone's limbs," he said.

"Always nice when heart metaphysics works in our favor. Its been a while."
