It was everywhere. It felt like it was everywhere. MK didn't notice anyone else right now. The screams, the fear, the way he went still and his head looked at the elevator. MK's hand trembled as he held the staff close to his chest. He killed him. He killed him. Why did it have to be like this?

Donnie's hand was over his eyes. He felt the shell against his back. MK closed his eyes and all he could see was the blood and Macaque screaming. Begging Monkey King to stop but he didn't. It didn't stop until...

"E-Elevator. We need...we need to fix the hole...." He said weakly in the turtle's arms. Donnie would feel the tears against his three fingered hand.

"We're going to the elevator," Donnie said. His voice is fairly flat. Its quieter. Its the best he can do for empathy in moments like this. His own breakdown will be later. Much later. Right now, he has to help his team and as long as he focuses on that, he can go forward.

He flies back from the hillside. Its not until he feels a hand on his shoulder that he's able to look away from the sight himself.

He doesn't let go of MK. Its the closest thing he can offer to a hug right now.

That was a thing Wukong was not equpped to deal with, so he shuffled the oddness of Donnie's lack of reaction to the back of the pile. "Leave MK to me and go take care of the others," he said, keeping his own turmoil in check. He needed to keep focus, keep reminding himself that's not how it literally went, even if that's no comfort at all. It may as well have been.

But right now this was to fix Macaque, to save him. So they just had to deal for now.

"I'll figure out the hole."

Donnie stares for a few beats, before he nods. "Okay," he said, moving to hand MK over to Wukong.

There is a pause. "Its a memory. Likely a dramatization of one. Death memories can be very big in hearts, especially if you've only done it once. It isn't a real death," he said. Its the logic he can provide. The best at comfort he can manage.

MK couldn't say anything. He just hung there in the arms of whoever was holding him. He didn't know anymore. He kept his eyes closed until he was back on the floor of the elevator. He sat there as the images and sounds kept replaying in his head. The blood, the writhing, the screams, and the silent. The way his head fell to the side lifelessly. It was awful. It was painful and it hurt.

And he'd done it. It was a nightmare of a memory and it lived in Macaque's head all the time. Slowly his eyes opened and he looked at the staff. It was covered in blood. The red dripped down onto his hands and the sleeves of his jacket. Red. Red was one of MK's favorite colors and now it was all over him and he felt sick. He gagged and slapped his stained hand over his mouth.

He hadn't eaten anything before the game but now there was cherry candies in his stomach. Red. Red. So much red.

He never thought he'd hate the color until this moment. Blue was still worse but right now...he wished there wasn't so much red. He heard Donnie's words but they didn't help.

"Yeah, I know. We've talked about it." The attempt at comfort was appreciated.

Wukong supported MK, holding him close and rubbing his back and speaking quietly to him. "You're okay, MK. It wasn't real, you didn't kill him. You weren't the one causing him pain." It was little comfort, he knew that. But he had to try and pull MK out of it before he started to really sprial.

MK leaned into the hug. He pressed into Wukong. He wasn't scared of him. He looked up at Monkey King. He nodded. It might not have been real but he was going to see that in his nightmares forever now. Forever.

"I'll...put the staff in. Go. Fix the hole first. I just...need a moment." MK said slowly. They had a mission. They had to get it done. Push it down. Put it in a box. Deal with it later. Later.

"Alright. I'll be right back."

Giving MK's shoulder a squeeze, Wukong left his side andapproached the hole again. Opening the bag, he took the ice shard and inserted it into the hole. It had to be that one, The pain could be addressed later, and he wanted to save the other memories for later.

MK stood up. He stepped up to the panel. He looked at the staff again and all that blood. He frowned but he knew what he had to do. He pressed it to the 'key'hold and inserted the staff inside.

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry," He said again. Then once everyone was in the elevator, he hit the S button.
