[He considers and nods.] That should work. Doesn't pull weird.

[ She reaches for his hand. ]

It might take me a sec to get it right; still new to these teeth. Just let me know if something needs to change.

[ Shuffles again, this time she can lean in, gently pressing dangerously sharp teeth to the spot they'd chosen. She waits a beat, just in case he protests, then bites down, trying to go just slow enough that she won't accidentally hurt him. ]

I will.

[He keeps his arm still. Breathing in sharply as he feels the press of teeth against skin. Then...into skin.]

[He can't stop the churring that builds in his throat.]

[ She isn't going to think about it. She is not gonna think about it. This is about the stat boost. This is about the stat boost.

... She really can't help the thrill she feels, the budding warmth, at his churr and how delightfully easy it is to lay a cl- clean mark like this -

There's an answering sound, softer, quieter, closer to a purr than a churr. She's lingers for a few seconds, holding that same pressure, because they need this to last and Donnie heals fast. But then she finally (regretfully) eases out of the bite to kiss away the blood. ]

[He's trying to hold back the churring, he really is, but its hard when her teeth are in his skin, when there's a new, sharper bite.]

[He buries his face more into the blankets, trying to calm the churring, and happy chirps, until she's done. Then he reaches for her hand.]

[ Her hand is right there to meet his, and the moment he closes the distance, she twines their fingers together.

Mushes her face in the blankets.

chirpchirpCHIRPCHIRPS, wings puffed and fluttering, for a handful of seconds before she manages to wrangle herself back under control. ]

[He squeezes her hand, moving closer to her.]

Did you...do it?

[ Cuddles up closer, snuggling the bundle of bedding that is her boyfriend. ]

[ Chirp - ]

[ Clears her throat ]

Buff should be active now. Yeah. Was it- um, okay?

Songbird, talking about it would not be pulling from hindbrain brrr.

I-I just meant - wanted to double-check I hadn't hurt you.

[ Whine ...

Paffs her wings against the floor of the pillowfort. ]

Later. Um. Welcome back to being a teensy bit stronger, anyway.

N-no. I'm fine.

Very fine.

Super fine.

[Far too fine.]

Its. Its good.

M-maybe hot cocoa?

Hot cocoa! Great idea! Oh, and, um, MK-san gave me some cherry candies? We've got one each.

[ Sits up, tugging on his hand gently to get him up as well with one hand. The other retrieves the thermos. ]

[HOPEFULLY COMFORT FOODS will pull from hindbrain.]

[ IN FACT ...

After the thermos and candies, she pulls out an insulated, heated bento box of sorts, which is of course full of pizza puffs; a container of strawberries; a bunch of both his and her favorite candy bars; and some wipes and such for their hands. ]

Since we've gotta wait for the others to finish anyway.

[ SNACK BREAK TIME. ]
