"Well apparently this is the time of year for gifts. Buuuut I also just wanted to get you something," MK said with a smile. As the wrapping comes off, the gift is in a box. Which poofs and turns into hair because boxes can clutter. The hair lands on a stuffed seal. Though MK has customized this one. It has a little yellow jacket like his but the emblem on the back is of Macaque's grinning face.

And it has a cute little shadow headband on its head. That definitely is not the one he gave MK but one MK wove himself out of shadows and put on the little guy.

"I hope you like it."

Macaque sees the familiar seal and laughs lightly. So MK thought he could use some reassurance, did he?

Macaque touches the shadow headband, obviously. Examining it. "Not bad at all, kiddo. Thank you. I like it. Now give me a kiss."

MK knows Macaque needs reassurance. Which is okay. Because he needs it too. It's part of relationships, right? To reassure your partners, your mates, that you need them. Want them. Love them. MK smiles brightly and blushes at the compliment. He is so glad it came out well. Then he rolls over and brushes Macaque's cheek with his hand.

"You can have my kisses whenever you want," he whispers before kissing Macaque.

Mm, that's better. Macaque takes his slow, sweet time kissing MK, even though he has a gift in exchange that he's a little antsy about.

"See, if you say it that way and kiss me like that, I'll never do anything but ask for more." And then where would they be?

"I have something for you, too. Hang on." He goes over to his night table, unlocks the magical seal, and pulls out a box, which he hands over to MK.

Inside is a ring made of shadows. It gleams like the night sky, with those familiar constellation-like glints. Since it's based on the night sky on Earth, the North Star is prominent.

"It's an official courting gift. Since we haven't done that yet. And since it's shadow it won't be solid unless you want it to, so no need to take it off for training or whatever. I hope you like it."

MK chuckles at the words. He was going to saw something like, they'd be kissing all the time but Macaque beats him to it with a gift? He takes the box and opens it. His eyes light up seeing what is inside. He gently takes the ring out and stares at it. It's beautiful. He can see the stars glinting in it and the bright shining one.

The North Star.

MK slips it into his tail and lets it form to it. He gives his tail a few wags. The ring doesn't move since it is, well shadow. And it gleams so beautifully against the dark fur of his tail. He quickly hugs Macaque again.

"I love it! Oh it's beautiful. I'll never take it off. This...it's perfect. Oh I gotta work on getting yours all finished. It's taking longer than I thought. But oh! I do have another romance thing in the works. You are going to the Sinsmas party thing at the end of the month, right?"

Macaque smiles as he watches MK take it in. Please that it's getting a good reaction. MK deserves something beautiful to wear.

He watches MK slip it onto his tail. It looks great there, and Macaque feels all warm inside.

"I'm glad, kiddo. I'll be happy every time I see it on you." To say the very least.

He raises an eyebrow at the Sinsmas thing. "Of course I'm going, Lucifer is hosting it. What are you plotting?"

MK is the happiest noodle boi right now. He loves how it feels on his tail. When asked what he's planning, he grins and gives a cheeky wink.

"It won't be much of a surprise if I tell you, now will it? I will tell you you'll need to be at the Pride Level for it though. Okay?"

MK is so cute right now. Well, always, but there's a particular charm to his devilish attitude.

"I'd imagine I'll be spending a lot of time on the Pride level. Watching performances, maybe doing a few. I'll be looking for you, then. Whatever the wonderful mate I'm now courting has planned, I'm sure it'll be great."

Hm.

"...There is one little thing. I'm not sure if it'll happen by then, but... Lucifer and I are talking about getting engaged. I didn't want it to surprise you if it happens." Because he can see Lucifer humiliating him with a big announcement at Sinsmas. If it happens by then.

"I hope it will be," MK says with a nod. Then the other news comes and his eyes light up. He gently shakes Macaque with excitement.

"That is so cuuuute. Awwww. You're gonna get engaged?! To Lucifer. Oooooh that's so amazing. Congratulations!" Maybe not the response Macaque was expecting.

Not the reaction he expected at all. But a welcome one.

"I have to wait for him to ask me, but we've talked about it. I feel pretty confident that it'll happen sometime soon. We're both shit at waiting."

"Well you gotta show me the ring after. I wanna see it. I'm really happy for you. That's like a huge step. For you both, right?" MK asks and pets Macaque's cheek with the back of his fingers.

"Of course, I'll tell you all about it. I'll probably be singing it from the rooftops. For someone petrified of relationships not long ago, I'm very excited. It is a big step but I'm sure we're ready for it."

"Of course you're invited. I'm going to have to talk him down from inviting the entire city, but the ones closest to us should definitely be there. We're actually talking about doing a musical wedding. Like at my theater."

"A musical wedding? Oh you two are just so adorkable. So is everyone gonna have parts or just you two?" MK is smiling with that cheeky grin of his.

"Maybe tell him writing songs for everyone in the city would be like super hard and delay the wedding like ten years. That'll probably get him to not invite everyone."

"He definitely is." Macaque is too cool to be a dork.

"I dunno, do you want a song? You're a huge part of my life. If you want a solo, I'm sure that we could work something in. Our kids are definitely going to sing unless they don't want to, and you're my family too."

"I mean, I am working on my singing for my performance. That would be cool. I'm okay sharing a song if it works. Whatever works best for the wedding. Solo or group number. You know I can do boyband style singing."

"If you say so." He'll never think he's a dork, silly thing.

"Let me ask around and see who's okay being part of it, and then Lucifer and I can write the songs. I also have to make sure that Wukong is okay with being included in the backstory."

"I do. You sexy cool dork," he nuzzles noses with Macaque. Because he is complex and all of those things.

"Sounds like a good plan all around. He's good at writing so maybe you two and work on the backstory part for you together?"

"Mm, maybe. I want him to feel included and all. And he is annoyingly good at everything."

"He really is. His plan making needs some work but he's getting better at that too. So this will help him improve on that too. And you can teach him how to hone his skills there."

"He's always been able to get by on brute force and charm. Sometimes that's not quite enough."

Macaque has a somewhat dreamy look on his face.

"There's no way to tell my story without telling his, so hopefully he'll be fine with it. Hopefully he'll be fine with the whole concept in general. I'm a little nervous to tell him, truthfully."

"He does like to swing his big tail around," MK says with an equally dreamy expression.

"I mean, as long as you won't make him perform? I think he'll really like it. His stage fright and all."

"It's a little funny, I suggested doing a musical for a wedding in part because it's the only way I'd feel comfortable being that vulnerable in front of people. So I get it."

"It kinda is. The moon and shadow feels comfortable under the limelight and the sun and hero is afraid of it," MK chuckles.

"Ironic, right? I think that's ironic. And hey. He can be in the front row so you can see him and how happy he is for you two."
